My father was always refurbishing and repairing lawnmowers in his spare time when I was growing up.  He bought one lawnmower at a yard sale and fixed it up.  It was an older model so he put it out in front of our house with a sign which read “FREE LAWNMOWER”  Days went by and it just sat there near the curb.  He flipped the sign and wrote “LAWNMOWER $25”

Someone stole it that day.
